I traced one problem down to my resoldering of dry joints where I had inadvertently shorted a component with some stray solder (wot a plonker I hear you say lol!) Nick advised cleaning the TX/RX relay with some suitable switch cleaner and checking all 'plug in' type connections to the PA board, which I did.
